Liveblogging the State of the Union

I’m about to pass out from exhaustion (on air this morning, homeschool lessons – keepin’ it real, yo! – deadlines, and two television interviews for the Tea Party.

Commencing shortly. No comments or chat this time; I may fall asleep at my computer if I don’t choke on all the “Reaganesque” crap first.

8:00 Brian Williams.Yes, I’m watching NBC because it’s fun to watch boys with crushes. “He’s new at the job,” so many excuses. WE DON’T PROVIDE JOB TRAINING.

8:05 Aw, they brought back Hillary to trot out for the speech. Is she tired of being used yet?

8:10 Obama is announced; all the liberals on Twitter explode with blinding adoration.

8:13 “Normally, the Holy One is flanked by Angels. Obama has to settle for the gargoyles Pelosi and Reid.” – @jimmiebjr

It’s taking Brian Williams everything he has to not burst into the rotunda and dry hump Obama’s leg. Seriously.

8:16 Nancy Pelosi is clapping so hard, were her arms not sheathed in sleeves her bingo wings would give her flight.

8:18 Speech begins.

- “We will recover.” Um, from your stimulus? From disco?

- “Take responsibility once more!” By giving it to the government.

- The blockheads in the GOP applaud Obama’s stimulus.

- B.O. doesn’t believe in big government. Where is this fairy tale world in which he lives, where he can alter the definitions and representation of his actual actions? Because I would like to sell timeshares in it.

- “If we don’t start lending in this country we will choke off our economy …” Wow, that would make sense if he wasn’t going to tax the hell out of capital gains and kill incentive TO INVEST OMG.

- “ALL YOUR MONIES BELONG TO US.” Baaas and applause.

- GOP blockheads, quit applauding. Gawd.

- “The economy will recover.” If Wall Street had digits, it’d be flying Obama the bird right now. Actually, it did according to the drops.

- “Time for America to lead again!” We sure as hell won’t when you cripple our manufacturing base.

- “Climage change! The sky is falling!” GAWD.

- “We cannot and should not protect [automakers] from their own bad practices.” Even when government caused half of them by intervening in the private sector?

- “Let’s do whatever proves necessary? Again he expresses no governing or guiding principles” – John Culberson.

- We spend the most on education yet we have the crappiest scores. HMMM. Let’s apply Occam’s razor, shall we? Could it be …. the administration of education? /churchlady

- Oh great. He promises to socialize healthcare. He says it’s too expensive. Apparently he doesn’t get what will happen under his own plan.

- Because carbon caps failed so wonderfull in Eurpoe B.O. wants to try them here.

- “Responsibility for our children’s education begins at home.” So I trust he’ll leave homeschooling alone?

- Here we go! Penalizing economic success!

- How is upholding our values related to keeping our country safe by locking up terrorists? “The USofA does not torture!” Then why did the courts find that Gitmo met Geneva?

- Well that’s it – Gitmo closes and all terrorism, bombings, and beheadings end! Awesome! Party!

- Bobby Jindal delivers the Republican response. He’s spot on. Expresses the GOP willingness to work together, something not afford to us thus far.
