Hot Air » Blog Archive » Video: Obama says we’re not proposing cuts to Medicare

1. Obama AARP forum says no one is talking about cutting Medicare except for those $300-plus billion in cuts that he proposed last month.

2. Some video dudes think Obama is the anti-Christ. Cue the Church lady.

3. Paul Ryan, previously wrong on TARP, owns it on healthcare.

4. Gates 911 caller, Lucia Whalen: So apparently you can be a racist just by calling 911 to report a break-in.

On tomorrow’s show I’ll talk to Eagle Forum’s Phyllis Schlafly and Joan Rivers.

On notice

Hillbillies who say that all conservative women are like Sarah Palin are the same hillbillies who say that all minorities look alike. Why yes, generalized, bigoted statements ARE offensive!

So for you dudes freaking out that yet another conservative woman has upped and put on shoes and stepped out of the kitchen, back away from your cousins and adjust your overalls: IT’S 2009.

Blue dogs reach deal

It’s being reported that House Dems have reached a deal on healthcare:

Democratic leaders in the U.S. House of Representatives have reached a deal with a group of fiscal conservatives in their own party on how to move forward with healthcare legislation, a leading lawmaker said on Tuesday.

Representative Mike Ross, who leads the so-called “Blue Dog” conservative coalition, said they had reached a deal with leadership after days of long negotiations.

This morning I interviewed Newt Gingrich who said he was confident that the bill would fizzle before congress left for recess; @infidelsarecool reports that Steny Hoyer says it won’t reach a floor vote by recess but they want it out of committee by Friday:

House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer said late Monday that there won’t be a floor vote on the Democrats’ sweeping health care bill before lawmakers are currently slated to leave town on Friday.

But he left open the possibility of a weekend session or a vote early next week.

Full story.

A possibility means that you should already be on the steps of your elected officials’ offices when they arrive home.
