Oh Noes: Public Sours on Health Control in Time for Midterms

Well this certainly isn’t good:

A new poll shows that public support for health care reform dropped sharply in August — a dagger in Democrats’ hopes that their landmark legislation will help them in November’s midterm.

The Kaiser Health Tracking Poll has support for the bill dropping 7 percentage points in August — down to 43 percent — while opposition rose 10 points to 45 percent. That’s the weakest showing since May — and a far cry from the bump proponents had hoped to see as some of the law’s more consumer-friendly provisions kick in.

For the sake of argument, let’s speculate why this may be happening:
Can’t say I blame those polled.

From Last Night’s Anderson Cooper

What amazes me is the need for liberal media types, like Tiabbi in this clip, to continually downplay and ignore the amazing activism from black conservatives. They pretend that black conservatives don’t exist because acknowledgment would mean forfeiture of some insane narrative and in the end, perpetuating that narrative seems more important than recognizing conservatism in the black community. That, to me, speaks volumes as to where many in the prog-soc community are concerning race.

GOP Takes the Lead

Gallup:

Republicans lead by 51% to 41% among registered voters in Gallup weekly tracking of 2010 congressional voting preferences. The 10-percentage-point lead is the GOP’s largest so far this year and is its largest in Gallup’s history of tracking the midterm generic ballot for Congress.

And

President Obama’s job approval rating slipped to 43% for the week of Aug. 16-22, down one percentage point from the previous weekly low set a week ago.

I wonder why that is.
