I’m in LA tomorrow to be on the panel for “Real Time with Bill Mahr” and to see some folks. It broadcasts live at 9pm central.
In other news, please excuse any (de/con)struction around here shortly as I will be changing up the site.
Danke!

The ideological war in which this country is currently embroiled has many fronts and one of those fronts is media. The media existed as the watchdog for the people but at some point became the attack dog for the government. What is reported in media eventually becomes history. One of the things which spurred my conversion from liberalism in my early 20s was the realization that bias was becoming history, that partisanship threatened to bury truth, and that without knowledge of the past and examination of the causes which led to specific conclusions, humanity risked a cyclical existence, never progressing. Like Groundhog Day, but way less funny.
I’ve always felt blessed, professionally so the past couple years, with a newspaper column, radio show (third year!), the absolute blast I had working with PJTV, and flying around the country speaking to and covering some pretty amazing people and events.
Things are changing up once again here as it’s announced today that I am taking over as Editor of BigJournalism.com and filling a pair of rather large shoes left by my predecessor, Michael Walsh. It’s a news junkie’s dream, a dream especially for a print journalism ex-pat-of-sorts who has felt disillusioned by media for quite some time. It’s also an incredible honor and I’m thrilled to be working with such an impressive array of fellow writers.
That also means some changes here. This site will now be strictly related to issues, programming notes, and news about my daily show. Daily content on issues of the day will be featured on the Big sites.
I’m excited for what’s in store. I hope you are, too.
Newsguy Jason Church just reported via metro that the DSCC just canceled two weeks worth of ads supporting Robin Carnahan’s run for US Senate. From the National Journal:
But at this point, it appears as though the DSCC moving money out of the state. The ad cancellations are an indication that national Democrats are growing bearish on Secretary of State Robin Carnahan‘s (D) chances against Rep. Roy Blunt (R), as polling shows Blunt with a sizable lead.
Carnahan has been struggling against Blunt even since before the primary in which Blunt scored more votes than all the candidates in the Democratic primary combined.
From my hit the other morning. I do disagree that the movement is “fickle.”

It’s not “fickle.” It’s discerning, consistent, and mainstream.
