Long ago in another life I blogged about politics. This was sometime in 2002-2003. Before that I blogged about politics and pop-culture in a separate blog during 2000-2001. I have blogged a long time.
I stopped blogging about politics after the birth of my second child because blogging about politics ticks a lot of people off and because I was burned out, not just from writing about politics but having to endure the scorn of those who were so insecure about their own intelligence that they couldn’t let a different opinion lay. So I stopped.
However, since the incarnation of my radio show and the influx of mail from people who want to know where online they can find what I’m discussing, people who want to know if I’ve seen such-and-such video, if I have a link to such-and-such video, or what I think about such-and-such issue, I’ve decided to tackle political blogging again.
I know a lot of my regular readers don’t like to read me talking about politics much in the same way you don’t like to think about your parents having sex. So those people should STOP READING NOW or just reconcile yourself to the fact that I may utter something to which does not jive with your stances. And if so, realize that it’s perfectly OK, it’s cool, tomato tomahtoe, oh bla dee life goes on. If it makes it to where you cannot stand me anymore then you, unlike my liberal friends who can deal with the fact that I’m unlike them politically, are probably a person with whom I couldn’t and shouldn’t have a beer.
At this time I am not opening comments because I simply do not have the time to babysit the flamewar that the comments will MOST DEFINITELY dissolve into. If you’ve a question I’ve an email address on my main site, but just know that I will ignore any debate-y emails because I’m lazy and don’t give a damn. Right now this is a one-sided discourse, maybe that will change, but I seriously doubt it will in the foreseeable future.
