Oops! Socialists Forget to Cover Children in Bill

They were so focused on including language to hire IRS bounty hunters to enforce penalties and compliance that they forgot the keystone of their entire legislation. If this doesn’t convince you that this bill was more about egregious government control and an abuse of the Constitution more so than actually providing quality health care for people, you’re too partisan for reason. Hours after President Barack Obama signed historic health care legislation, a potential problem emerged. Administration officials are now scrambling to fix a gap in highly touted benefits for children.

Obama made better coverage for children a centerpiece of his health care remake, but it turns out the letter of the law provided a less-than-complete guarantee that kids with health problems would not be shut out of coverage.

Under the new law, insurance companies still would be able to refuse new coverage to children because of a pre-existing medical problem, said Karen Lightfoot, spokeswoman for the House Energy and Commerce Committee, one of the main congressional panels that wrote the bill Obama signed into law Tuesday.

Hmmm and who does it affect the most? Children of the self-employed, of small businesses. Unreal.

The coverage problem could mainly affect parents who purchase their own coverage for the family, as many self-employed people have to do. Families covered through employer plans typically do not have to worry about being denied coverage because of pre-existing conditions.

That coupled with the $52 billion in new taxes this bill is now slated to hoist upon small business to pay for health control, small business is getting it coming and going. Watch unemployment rise again as this administration grapples with the fact that you cannot penalize and stifle the engine of the economy.
