Is this to what the Dem operative was referring?

Bill wrote about an operative flown in from Chicago. Weird.

Coupled with these stories sent over by Jim at 24thstate:

The plan for a series of grass-roots demonstrations Tuesday to promote President Obama’s health care agenda calls for tightly scripted events and an “escalation” of efforts against “enemies” of reform.

Organizers insist there is no comparison to rowdy summer town hall meetings and recent “tea party” protests that have challenged White House policies.

But Health Care for America Now (HCAN), which is backed by a coalition of labor unions and liberal groups including ACORN and MoveOn.org, organized the protests to target insurance companies and drafted the plan, which describes the demonstrations as part of its “insurance enemies project.”

Er, how is this grassroots? Also:

We need bodies on the sidewalk. We need to demonstrate our passion about health care reform and the public option. Help get out the progressive message: take part in a demonstration Tuesday, Sept. 22 at noon across from Union Station, in front of the WellPoint offices.

[…]

Don’t bother bringing a sign. HCAN is supplying them. They prefer a sea of large, easy to read signs and a consistent message.

So a large government outfit is supplying the signs and you still think it’s grassroots. Got it.

Dem operative in town who is “prepared for the tea partiers,” astroturf rallies, it makes some sense. Occam’s razor.
